CraftsmanshipIt's simply ingrained into everything we do at Country Ways Oak. We aim to create the highest quality handmade oak furniture, using time-honoured woodworking techniques.
Using traditional tools such as tenon saws ,mallets and chisels, each piece of Country Ways Oak furniture is constructed with sturdy pegged mortice and tenon joints, assembled without the need for glue, to deliver strength and durability.
Our highly-skilled craftsmen strive to create
bespoke furniture of charm and character-furniture which will stand the test of time.

Our Company HistoryPaul Kennard formed Country Ways Oak in 1989 after spending 9 years restoring and sailing an historic sailing boat around the UK and Southern Europe.
His interest in woodwork started as a young child just pottering around his Fathers shed and later helping around the boat yards in Rye during Summer holidays and weekends.
The ambition was to leave school at 15 and to become a boat builder, unfortunately there were no vacancies so he became a carpenter and at twenty years old, started his first company Rother Carpenters.
